Hi — I'm Jared.
After two years sailing around the Balearics and the Iberian Peninsula, I've developed a real passion for life at sea and enjoy the challenges and experiences that come with working on different yachts and visiting new places.
Background
Originally from Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, I grew up sailing dinghies and spending as much time outdoors as possible. After studying Computer Science, I began working in web development before following my passion for the water and building a career in the yachting industry. I'm now based in Palma de Mallorca, where I've spent the last few years sailing throughout the Mediterranean, logging over 11,000 nautical miles along the way.
Working aboard sailing yachts has given me experience in everything from passage planning and sail handling to guest experience, maintenance, and life at sea. When I'm not onboard, I enjoy building websites and digital projects, surfing, diving, and exploring new places. I take pride in being adaptable, hands-on, and always keen to learn new skills—whether on deck, in the engine room, or behind a computer screen.
You can find more of my work on GitHub and hear my DJ sets on SoundCloud.
